I'm using Suse Professional 9.0, It was my first intrdoucing with Linux! It wasn't hard to me to switch on this system, and it's very comfortable with rmps - self extract format, I have very slow computer Intel Celeron 633 and my video card is Matrox Mystique 220. And I can't watch video in Windows 98, but now I can watch video without probles with help from Mplayer, Mplayer needs many other progrmas but they all are on the Suse Install CDs

I have been using Linux since the CaldreaLinux days. But the largest problem I keep running into was, my wife. She wanted Microsoft Windows, mainly because that was what she was used to. But fast foward 5 years and here comes the answer...XandrOS. This distro is probably one of the best for the new Linux user. My kids use it, my wife uses it and now we can all finally live in harmaony. If you need to convert a windows user, I would suggest Xandros mainly for ease of install and ease of use.

I am system Administrator , and using REDHAT Linux version , 7.3 and 8.0. I found it very good and stable as compare to Dubai , and it is now competator of other unix OS. (Solaris, IRIX etc) Well , I wanna more and more knowledge related to Linux system administration and wanna do some practical with its latest versions. I found Linux too fast related to my some oil companies related applications.

From delemi [66.188.42.31] - 2004-03-29

I use a variety of linux/unix distributions as far as wich one I like better it would depend on the role of the server/computer. Sun's Solaris is great as far as playing a server, however its downfall is it's drivers are limited to the native Sun hardware or limitied PC hardware. The X86 version is currently free through Sun and comes with a driver porting kit. Fedora and Redhat are great for PC's easy to use and fast. Step by step install makes it easy to setup and run. Mandrake leaves little to be desired however I have encountered a few video card issues. And we will see where Suse ends up in the next year now that Novell has aquired them.
