Knoppix is my favorite operating system because it has all that a computer needs . It has all software installed and it is only a CD and works even if you do not have a HardDrive in your computer. It is also equiped with software for cinematics playback (avi,mpg,mpeg,vcd,svcd.....), software for editing, software for sound playback and drivers for all the common hardware. This software is FANTASTIC because it has all that Windows has and it needs only HALF of the space required for Windows (1500 MB for Windows XP vs. 700 MB for Knoppix 3.3). Knoppix is MORE easy to install and use, it requires LESS space and system resurces, it has all software built in and it is MORE reliable and LESS vulnerable to viruses.
