Fedora Core 1 Review
Fedora core 1 IMHO, is the best distribution of linux to get. Even if you are a newcomer or an experienced linux user. The first time i used Fedora, it worked with all my hardware without having to configure it. Mandrake always had problems with my sound card, but it worked in fedora. The distro also comes with a many programs to install, from office suits to CD rippers to compilers. And the installation is very simple. Just check what you want to install and its done, it even installs needed components for chosen programs. The UI in Fedora is also excellent. It does not try to copy other OS's but creates it own uniqe enviroment that is very easy to learn and adapt to. My only negative with fedora it that it does not come with MP3 codecs. But it is very easy to install the codecs. A big plus that i like is the built in CD burning. Just drag and drop any file into the burnable folder and its ready to burn. I give Fedora Core 1 a 9 out of 10. With what i seen in Core 1, I cant wait to see what Fedora Core 2 has to offer. It is currently out in beta (at the time of this review). http://fedora.redhat.com is the website to get it at.
