Mandrake Move
Mandrake Move is a great starting point for the Windows user who does not know anything about installing Linux and has no knowledge the OS. I simply put the CD in the drive of my Compaq (Celeron 500, 128M RAM) and took off. It was a little slow in getting off the ground, but once I got into the OS, everything was fast and smooth. This distibution (note: The download version does not give you the option of saving any system info. You must buy the CD to have info regarding drivers, etc. saved for quick access.) is a great introduction to Linux. I now plan to try Mandrake 9.2 and dual boot with Windows XP. I may make my second PC a Linux box without another OS and run WINE on it. We shall wait and see. Mandrake Move is good for portability of Linux and for making a test run of the OS, if you've never tried Linux before. I'm now sold on Linux! How Do I Use Linux with a Cable Modem?
