Mepis review
When choosing a distribution of Linux, there are certain things you need to keep in your mind. Like, on which platform the distribution is based on, or is it a mainstream distribution or not. I'm a computer science student and I want my Linux desktop to be as stable as possible. That's why I choose Debian or Debian based distributions as my personal favorite. I used to use RedHat distributions, but they have migrated to the enterprise Linux operating system leaving us with a community project named "Fedora". And recently, "SuSE" Linux is acquired by the well-known company Novell. Both Fedora and SuSE seemed clogged down with lots of unnecessary stuffs that is not suitable for regular users (you can customize them according to your own needs when you get the hang of Linux). That's why I've introduced the best distribution that I've ever used for my personal use, "Mepis" Linux. Please visit my "How to install" page for more information on Mepis. You can find more information about MEPIS at their official site, http://www.mepis.org. I have also written a how to install at http://esophers.com/linux .
