Well, Linus Torvalds as a college student wrote the kernel and basic components of Linux. At first his project of cloning the Unix operative system in the Intel 386 procesors was a hobby. Linus never tought it was creating the next big thing for the computer industry. Wihtout doubd Linux will replace windows some time in the future.
