DS Linux, run linux on the nintendo DS, Howto

Linux on your nintendo DS howto

The latest portable machine from nintendo is got all the powe tux needs to feel at home (2 Arm 7 & 9 proc) , wifi, 3D graphs, touch screen , 2 screens, a microphone, 10 hours of battery  , and lots of other goodies. Hopefully the guys that ported Linx to the gamecube and also ported linux to the Xbox, will take some time for this project. I think Nintendo can really benefit from leting the open source community developers to do some cool work with the Nintendo DS. I bet we can also install some nice emulators on the Nintendo DS with the help of linux. How about playing Playstation 1 , Nintendo 64, Gameboy and other games inside the nintendo DS ? Is this possible or perhaps I´m just dreaming ;)

Where is the download for linux for nintento ds?  Dude it does take some time for a bunch of people to actually write the os for the machine.  Try asking that question in a year or write it yourself.

Surf the internet on the DS?  How about spam your friends using terminal and telnet with a DS?  Muwahaha...

Nah, but in  all seriousness, that'd be awesome.  I highly doubt we could run a Playstation and N64 emulator, though.  While the DS is faster than the N64 and the screens are lower resolution, there is a performance hit when emulating another platform, remember?

HOWEVER, with an ARM-7 and ARM-9 processor in there, I'd bet an emulator could run old GameBoy and GBC games.  Voila- the backwards compatibility Nintendo failed to put in!

SNES games would be fun to run, as well.
I just hope I can run FireFox.
