mandrake
I am a gradutate this semester of a bachelors degree in computer information sytems. I am also A+ certified and just recieved my CCNA. I assist teaching a unix / linux class at the local community college. Currently our book by thompson course technology comes with red hat version 7.2 publishers edition and it will not correctly install on our brand new labs so were teaching the class using mandrake 9 and which to me is a little better and more personal desktop user friendly. The only problem i have come into trouble so far is that i try to teach everything first from the command line instead of using the gui, and all the students do is play all of the freaking games it comes with. Unix / Linux has come so far from just a command line os to a complete graphically user friendly os. There is much still to learn about the many things we can still accomplish and build on. Mandrake for me is a very powerful tool All of our servers here (mail, internet, ftp) use mandrake. It is a very powerful tool if you only take the time to learn it.
