Knoppix 3.4
I am irreversibly insane. Imagine that I go to the Knoppix site 10-15 times a day since I found out about 3.4. (hope to download it soon....) When I first booted Knoppix it was a revelation. Untill that day I didn't have much to do with graphical interface in Linux, video drivers, USB, etc. When I saw knoppix booting, with all the devices up-and-running I was stunned. Furthemore I have a cable from USB to IDE/ATAPI. In WinXP it was a little bit tricky (an update to the drivers for USB 2.0). So I said: let's see Knoppix do it. (in my mind was supposed to be very complicated... command line and kernel and stuff like that.) So, Knoppix 3.3 booted, and I inserted the HardDrive. Surprise... in a few moments I saw the icon for the MOUNTED drive on my KDE desktop!!! I'm loving Knoppix. I am watching movies, I am listening to music, I am writing/reading Excel, Word, PPT documents, surfing the web under Knoppix. My Compaq EVO N1020V notebook just loves it. The booting sequence takes for about 35-40 sec. after that I can do whatever I want. I am Knopped!!!... I am Linuxed!!!... What Is a core File? What Is ld.so and How Do I Get It?
